Bargains!

First of all I love a good bargain...second of all.... I love when the good bargain turns into a really fun activity for us! I found this ginger bread house kit on sale after Christmas! After all...who would want to make a ginger bread house after Christmas...right??!!

Not that Addie would have cared if we called it a "Ginger Bread House" but we decided to call it the Seven Dwarfs Cottage instead! No matter what you call it...this was a lot of fun and of course...messy...which we both love! An art project is just not fun if you can't get messy!

Addie was not really into the icing but she LOVED the candy!

Addie of course tasted the candy out of each bag prior to decorating the cottage! We had to make sure it was good right???

You think she has had enough candy by now???? Or are her eyes normally this large!

Despite the fact that we only had enough icing and candy to decorate the front of the house, the roof and only one side of the house........we were still pretty pleased with our First "Cottage"! Later that day Addie would walk by the house and say "can I have some window?" "Can I have some roof?"!!

Cathing Up

Once again I have waited a whole month to update the blog. Maybe that should be my New Year's Resolution."update Blog more often". I pretty much use this Blog as a memory book of the things we have done because I don't want to forget anything! So...bare with me...I'll try to run through December with as little writing as possible! My sister even told me...."I don't read what you write...I just look at the pictures". Well...honesty is the best policy I guess. And...I don't have to worry about her reading that I am writing about her since....she never reads what I write!
.
.
For those of you that have ever read this blog before you know...I LOVE doing art projects with Addie's hand prints to see how she has grown since the last project. So this Christmas was no different!

We started out by painting the paper...then it moved to the table...then the chair. I know I have said this before but thank goodness for Crayola Paint! It comes out of anything....well almost anything!

My next adventure in December was my annual Christmas shopping trip to Charlotte with my mom, sister and aunt! We love the mall in Charlotte....SouthPark! It is so much fun and such a nice mall! It is so much fun to have a girl's weekend with the family! I love this tradition and hope we keep doing it every year.

Of course while at SouthPark I met the famous Robert Pattinson....ok so he was a cardboard cutout of Robert Pattinson but it is still as close as I will ever get so I had to capture it on film!!

Addie is not afraid of Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Chuck E Cheese mouse, The Chick Fil A Cow...etc. She goes write up to them and starts a conversation...as you can see here with Santa! She didn't want to leave!

Addie and I went with some of our friends, Lucas and Diana, to an outside tree lighting which was soo cold but we still had fun!

I think they are having fun.....

Lucas and Diana!

We headed to my parent's house to celebrate Christmas with YaYa, Granddad, Aunt Winnie, Uncle Rod, Auntie Caroline and Grandmomma! The picture above is of Addie walking in and seeing what Santa left her for the first time! She was sad she didn't get to actually see Santa at YaYa and Granddad's house but when she saw the loot he left....she quickly got over it!

Addie loves her dollhouse that Santa brought her! Whenever we play house I always have to be the dad though....she always wants to be the mom! So funny! Sometimes she pretends the people in the dollhouse are Mary, Jesus and "Jophus"! Of course...I always have to be "Jophus" because she is Mary! David said that he always has to be "Jophus" too when he plays that with Addie!

Her first high heels.....they are a little big but still fabulous! She clops around the house in them leaving a loud clanking noise in her dust.....

Digging in her stocking......

This is hilarious....Grandmomma and Baby with their matching Snuggies! We need to get Baby's monogrammed too!

Our last stop in December was to head over to a friend's house who was in town for Christmas! Of course Addie loved their dog, Wilson! Wilson's parents started their own natural dog treat business, Wilson's treats! The treats are delicious...so I have been told! What a cute spokesdog!

What a wonderful Holiday season! Even though I missed sweet Tallulah a lot over the holidays I have a ton of good memories and pictures of her that will last forever! Of course having Addie around makes anyone forget their troubles or worries becuase she is just so fun! Now on to January!

Thankful for Unconditional Love!

I am so thankful for the 9 wonderful years I had with Ms. Tallulah...or as Addie would say it "Toollah". Tears continue to run down my cheeks as I write this because I miss her so much. Tallulah was a huge part of my family and she will ALWAYS be remembered and loved.

Someone sent me a funny email the other day about Unconditional Love and it is so true. It said if you put your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car....and close them in the trunk.....open your trunk 4 hours later and see who is happy to see you!
Your dog of course is ALWAYS happy to see you...no matter what!
Unconditional Love!

On Wednesday December 2 2009 Tallulah peacefully passed away. Tallulah had a Hemangiosarcoma. This is basically a malignant tumor that was attached to Tallulah's spleen. This tumor ruptured and caused internal bleeding. The vet gave Tallulah some pain medicine so she was very comfortable. They tried to operate to stop the internal bleeding but it was Tallulah's time to go.

Tallulah, you brought so much joy to our lives and you were such a loving, loyal dog!

I am so thankful I believe in two things:

1. I believe in Heaven
2. I believe Dogs DO go to Heaven Too

I know Tallulah is there and is peaceful and happy! She is surrounded by eight million tennis balls too. I know I'll see Tallulah again someday.
I love you Tallulah!

Happy Half Birthday Day!

Addie loves birthdays so much (ok...who doesn't) that I decided to start a new tradition. We celebrated her "half" birthday! As you can see Addie was very surprised and extremely excited! She had no problems with cake and ice cream and a few presents for her "half"!

October is over already????

Wow...Addie and I have been so busy during the month of October. I didn't realize that it had been this long since our last Blog post. We had a great month! Here is a brief summary....well as brief as I can be! Let me warn you that you will see this outfit A LOT in the following pictures. No....these pictures were not all taken the same day! Since you can really only wear this outfit during the month of October.....we wore it ALL THE TIME!!!!!
We went to the Pumpkin Patch with Kat Kat, Cold (Addie's name for Cole) and Chris!

Cole thought that someone had dropped all of the pumpkins on the ground and kept pointing to them and saying "uh oh" "uh oh". So cute!

This is the hayride that takes you to/from the pumpkin patch! It is pulled by a tractor which Addie wanted to "get on".

Out of the 3000 pictures we took we finally got one with both of them not only smiling but actually looking at the camera! It is a miracle!

This is the first time Addie ever wanted her face painted! Before she just said a flat out "no". This time she was very interested and kept telling me "don't touch it". She was very sad when she got out of her bath that night to find that it was no longer there.

Considering we went to the Pumpkin Patch the beginning of October I didn't want to carve the pumpkin yet because I wanted it to last! We decided to go outside and paint it! It was a hit!

Just a little video of Addie painting her pumpkin! You think she had enough paint on that paintbrush????

Again....same outfit but different day...I promise! Aunt Winne, Addie and I went to a corn maze. Why I thought a 2 year old would enjoy walking through corn is beyond me.....We basically walked in and she said "want to get out". Thank goodness this farm had other things to offer!

We went on a long hayride around the dairy farm!

Addie was SOO excited when the farm dog herded the cows over to the tractor where we were sitting! She thought that was the coolest thing.

Then she got to feed a cow and a goat! No germs here at all.......

I love crafts with Addie's footprints and hand prints so I can see how much she grows during the year. So for one of our last Halloween/October activities we made footprint ghost wreaths.....with paint.......in the bathtub! Addie had a blast and I loved watching her really get into it!

As you can see after we painted her hands and feet Addie thought it was time to finger paint the rest of the bathtub......thank goodness for Crayola washable paints!

Everything came out with just a little water! And it all came out of her clothes too!

The finished wreaths!

and spider from her hand prints!
Then of course we had a great Halloween Day! Addie was a pretty butterfly. She wouldn't keep the head piece on.....so I wore it! Also....pay NO attention to the fact that her wings were worn upside down the whole night! Ha!

We went to a festival for kids that is held downtown. Once again Addie is very excited about getting her face painted!

This was Addie last year next to the pumpkins! Below is her picture from this year. She has grown soo much over the past year.
