Thankful for Unconditional Love!

I am so thankful for the 9 wonderful years I had with Ms. Tallulah...or as Addie would say it "Toollah". Tears continue to run down my cheeks as I write this because I miss her so much. Tallulah was a huge part of my family and she will ALWAYS be remembered and loved.

Someone sent me a funny email the other day about Unconditional Love and it is so true. It said if you put your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car....and close them in the trunk.....open your trunk 4 hours later and see who is happy to see you!
Your dog of course is ALWAYS happy to see you...no matter what!
Unconditional Love!

On Wednesday December 2 2009 Tallulah peacefully passed away. Tallulah had a Hemangiosarcoma. This is basically a malignant tumor that was attached to Tallulah's spleen. This tumor ruptured and caused internal bleeding. The vet gave Tallulah some pain medicine so she was very comfortable. They tried to operate to stop the internal bleeding but it was Tallulah's time to go.

Tallulah, you brought so much joy to our lives and you were such a loving, loyal dog!

I am so thankful I believe in two things:

1. I believe in Heaven
2. I believe Dogs DO go to Heaven Too

I know Tallulah is there and is peaceful and happy! She is surrounded by eight million tennis balls too. I know I'll see Tallulah again someday.
I love you Tallulah!

Happy Half Birthday Day!

Addie loves birthdays so much (ok...who doesn't) that I decided to start a new tradition. We celebrated her "half" birthday! As you can see Addie was very surprised and extremely excited! She had no problems with cake and ice cream and a few presents for her "half"!

October is over already????

Wow...Addie and I have been so busy during the month of October. I didn't realize that it had been this long since our last Blog post. We had a great month! Here is a brief summary....well as brief as I can be! Let me warn you that you will see this outfit A LOT in the following pictures. No....these pictures were not all taken the same day! Since you can really only wear this outfit during the month of October.....we wore it ALL THE TIME!!!!!
We went to the Pumpkin Patch with Kat Kat, Cold (Addie's name for Cole) and Chris!

Cole thought that someone had dropped all of the pumpkins on the ground and kept pointing to them and saying "uh oh" "uh oh". So cute!

This is the hayride that takes you to/from the pumpkin patch! It is pulled by a tractor which Addie wanted to "get on".

Out of the 3000 pictures we took we finally got one with both of them not only smiling but actually looking at the camera! It is a miracle!

This is the first time Addie ever wanted her face painted! Before she just said a flat out "no". This time she was very interested and kept telling me "don't touch it". She was very sad when she got out of her bath that night to find that it was no longer there.

Considering we went to the Pumpkin Patch the beginning of October I didn't want to carve the pumpkin yet because I wanted it to last! We decided to go outside and paint it! It was a hit!

Just a little video of Addie painting her pumpkin! You think she had enough paint on that paintbrush????

Again....same outfit but different day...I promise! Aunt Winne, Addie and I went to a corn maze. Why I thought a 2 year old would enjoy walking through corn is beyond me.....We basically walked in and she said "want to get out". Thank goodness this farm had other things to offer!

We went on a long hayride around the dairy farm!

Addie was SOO excited when the farm dog herded the cows over to the tractor where we were sitting! She thought that was the coolest thing.

Then she got to feed a cow and a goat! No germs here at all.......

I love crafts with Addie's footprints and hand prints so I can see how much she grows during the year. So for one of our last Halloween/October activities we made footprint ghost wreaths.....with paint.......in the bathtub! Addie had a blast and I loved watching her really get into it!

As you can see after we painted her hands and feet Addie thought it was time to finger paint the rest of the bathtub......thank goodness for Crayola washable paints!

Everything came out with just a little water! And it all came out of her clothes too!

The finished wreaths!

and spider from her hand prints!
Then of course we had a great Halloween Day! Addie was a pretty butterfly. She wouldn't keep the head piece on.....so I wore it! Also....pay NO attention to the fact that her wings were worn upside down the whole night! Ha!

We went to a festival for kids that is held downtown. Once again Addie is very excited about getting her face painted!

This was Addie last year next to the pumpkins! Below is her picture from this year. She has grown soo much over the past year.

My First haircut!

Well Addie had an audience for her first haircut! Aunt Winnie, David and his wife, Sara, and myself all went to see her get her first haircut! We didn't think Addie was going to cooperate at first though. She was fine in the waiting area because they had toys for her to play with but then she had to get in the chair....and put on a smock......and try to sit still...... These three things posed issues. We accomplished one out of the three....sitting in the chair. Mrs. Kim, her hair stylist, was very patient and was great with Addie. Thank goodness we took Addie to a kid's place because I am sure a regular salon would not have been so patient! Between the numerous flashes from the cameras and all of us saying "Addie..say cheese" we were able to get a somewhat decent haircut (little slanted in the back.....oh well) and some great pics! It is a little hard to get a straight line with a squirming child in the chair! Thank goodness it grows!
This was the before picture!
This was the after picture! So pretty!

Addie and Mrs. Kim! As you can see....we had to do the haircut sans smock!

Mrs. Kim gave Addie a fabulous braid with lots of glitter! She also had silver gem stickers for the top of her head to finish off the diva hairdo!

Addie even got matching orange sticker earrings too! She loved it!

As you can see....she was aware she was the center of attention!

Such a happy girl! In this picture she is showing her dad her earrings! He loved them of course!

Yay....it is all over! Time for a lollipop! After the haircut we went into a store and Addie stared at herself in the dressing room mirror! She knew she looked so pretty!

The New Barbasol Ad!

Step 1: Be Excited about a free pass to be extremely messy!

Step 2: Spread shaving cream and food coloring all over!

Step 3: Dig In!

Being Messy is SOO much fun! Addie definitely takes after me in regards to getting messy. I remember some fun times I had in college when we played "mud volleyball"! So much fun!

Addie is really getting into the activity in this picture. We had shaving cream all over the kitchen!

This is very serious business!

You end up with some really pretty designs on your piece of paper once you get all the shaving cream off! Very Fun Activity!

Notice at the end when I say "Oh Tallulah". We had to stop the video because Tallulah was so graciously helping us clean the shaving cream off the floor.
