Folly Gras!

I had a FABULOUS time at the beach with the girls! This was the view from our porch! We had beautiful sunny skies on Thursday.....then the rain.....and snow came on Friday!

Ginny, Red Les, me, Christine, Eryn, Amos, Kelly, Kat and Sara
We celebrated with Kat since this is her last weekend with us girls before her wedding next month! This wasn't your traditional bachelorette party but it was a blast!

Even though we thought it would snow we still had to venture inland for some fabulous Italian food! Mmm.....Creamy tomato basil soup and butter nut squash ravioli with brown butter and sage! Oh and the bread....melt in your mouth good! I also learned what having a drink "up" meant! I ordered a Gimlet and the waitress asked if I wanted that "up" and I simply said "I honestly have no idea what that means...I normally pour my wine from a box so educate me!" I ended up being an "on the rocks" kinda girl but at least now I know "up" means no ice! I know...I know...I need to get out more!

When we left the restaurant...there was already about 2 inches of snow on the ground....fabulous! Charleston hasn't seen snow in a LONG time!

We headed to Folly Gras on Saturday and it was fabulous! No floats.....just decorated golf carts and lots of interesting people! I loved it. The parade was so small that when everyone in the parade got to the end of the street....they did a u-turn and decided to come back down the street again....fire truck and all! Of course no one knew the parade was going to do a u-turn so everyone ended up being in the parade because we had already filled the streets! Fun!

The necklace that Addie made me fit in perfectly with this crowd!
A cute fireman threw me a souvenir! Ok...so he was probably throwing it to some sweet child that I trampled in the process of retrieving the hat! I think he really meant for me to have it though!

This is another picture taken from our porch!

The weekend was a huge success! Can't wait to get together again soon!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I know some people feel this way about Valentine's Day..cupid...hearts...love...blah blah blah....

But...I actually love all the crafts, treats and fun that can be had during Valentine's Day! There is enough pink, red and white to go around for a whole year...and we took full advantage of it this weekend!
I remember growing up how excited I would get about Valentine's Day! My parents would always take the time to get together a few things to give us for Valentine's Day! My grandmother would always send us a box of valentine cards to play with as well! Since I won't get to spend Valentine's weekend with Addie we celebrated it this weekend!
We started off the day with some muffins with bright red sprinkles and candy hearts on top!

Then we headed to Pottery Barn Kids for their Valentine card workshop!

Addie had a blast making a card for YaYa and Granddad! I think we were in the Pottery Barn store for about an hour and a half!

Of course we couldn't pass by a photo booth without stopping for a silly photo!

Then after a much needed nap we got up and made Valentine necklaces!

You string together hearts and straws on yarn and come up with a very fun necklace!

Who knew a dexterity exercise could be such fun!

The results were fabulous! Addie made one for herself as well as YaYa and Aunt Winnie!

Then we headed to Mellow Mushroom to meet up with Aunt Winnie for dinner! Mmmm....this place has the BEST pizza in the whole world! Now....why they have a wooden raccoon at the entrance...I will never know.....but of course Addie loved it because she was taller than the raccoon...this is rare when you are three feet tall!

Aunt Winne wearing her heart necklace! She loved it! Of course you have to say "I love it" when a 2 year old gives you a hand made present.....they wouldn't understand any other reaction! Ha!

Sunday morning we had another healthy meal (Ha...we had NOTHING healthy this whole weekend)! Cinnamon rolls with more sprinkles! Mmm!

Addie personalized her Valentine cards to give to her classmates!

Addie is REALLY into Disney right now so I gave her a few Ariel toys as Valentine Gifts!

Then to finish off the healthy weekend we made heart shaped cookies!

A little flour.....goes a LONG way!

The flour got everywhere but on the cookies! Well...you can't expect a 2 year old to be neat when I can't even be neat when I make cookies!

And of course...more red sprinkles!!!

What a week!

Addie and I have been having lots of fun the past week and a half! First we had sweet "Cold" and Kat Kat up for a play date last week! Kat and I have already betrothed them.....they'll figure it out sooner or later..right!!

You can tell....they don't get a long at all!

We headed to sweet Blair's First Birthday Party! Although she is not looking too happy in this photo...she had a wonderful time and absolutely LOVED her cake. She even did a face plant into the cake! Why use your hands if you don't have to!

We had a wonderful time and were able to catch up with some of my "Bunko" girls!

As you can see Addie sampled everything they had to offer food wise! That's my girl!!

Tara had these adorable, and tasty, cookies for everyone to take home! Addie of course enjoyed hers thoroughly!

Addie and I had some friends come in town the next weekend, Aunt Amy and Aunt Ginny! I was so excited Amy was able to bring Petey! It was so much fun having a doggie in the house again! Petey was such a good house guest too! I couldn't believe it but he did not chew on ANY of Addie's toys! Wow! He was even gentle with Tallulah's toys that I still have around (can't seem to get rid of them quite yet)! As you can see...Addie loved Petey too! You are welcome anytime!

Then of course there was the dilemma of "what to wear to dinner".....the Snow White Dress and shoes?????

Or the sleeping Beauty Dress and shoes??????
The Hawaiian Grass Skirt and Coconut Bra??? (Thanks Aunt Winnie and Uncle Rod for bringing this back to Addie from Hawaii!)
Of course...The Super Woman Suit...was there ever any doubt in my mind that this is what needed to be worn to dinner tonight!!

Addie got a TON of good natured laughs and attention when she wore this to dinner! It was so much fun! Cape and all!

We headed to jumpy castle world on Saturday! Oh my goodness...this place is so much fun! I think I had just as much fun, if not more, than Addie! First of all you only have to pay for your child and adults are free. They figure that the adults will not be using the jump houses....they figured wrong with me! If your child is under 5 years old you are allowed to "assist your child on the attractions". Addie and I figured she needed assistance on every attraction!

You can tell Addie didn't have fun at all!! One of the slides I "assisted" Addie on was about three stories high. As I went down the slide I literally got the same sensation that I get when I go over a steep hill on a roller coaster...it was that high...and that much fun!! The best five dollars I have ever spent!
