Happy Birthday Addie!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Addie! Wow...we had a fabulous day! It was so much fun...busy but fun!

First we got up around 6:45...which is the norm for the weekend! Addie came downstairs and saw the easel that she got for her birthday! She was very excited..but still half asleep i think.

Never the less....she was not too tired to open some of her presents. She was able to put being tired aside for the moment....what a trooper!

After opening the crayons and chalk we had to try out the new easel!

It was the perfect height for little Ms. Addie! The easel was a great (and reasonable) find at Ikea!

You can tell she is still a little tired in this photo...but happy!



After we colored for a little while on the easel it was time to go to "Old McDonald's" for breakfast! That is Addie's name for McDonalds. Addie decided to play on the indoor playground after breakfast. She went down the kiddie slide a few times and then got very brave and went all the way up to the top of the big kid slide. Once you get to the top there is a little play area that is off to the side. Addie had to step down into the above ground play area. Once she stepped into that area she realized she was not able to climb out on her own. Of course....there were no other kids on the playground to help...except for me of course! So....I threw off the flip flops, walked past the "Kids Only" sign and crawled up the big winding tunnel to the top. Addie and I went down the big slide together. After that Addie went down the big slide a bunch. What a brave little two year old! She did stay away from the above ground play area after that though! How thoughtful of her not to make Mommy crawl up that tunnel twice!

Then we came home and I showed Addie her new kitchen! It only took me 4 hours to put together! Ha! Worth every minute of it though!

She loved having her own potholders. That was so funny!

Then after a much needed nap we headed to Chuck E Cheese for a staring contest with Chuck! ....and dinner and fun of course!


As you look at these pictures you can really see Addie winding down and getting really tired! We had a blast though! She Loves Chuck E Cheese!

Once we got home she found more energy! How does she do that!! I swear she enjoyed bath time more than the rest of the day!

First Taste of an Oreo!

First of all.....did everyone know that the "stuf" in "Double stuf" only had one "f"?!! Crazy.. Would have never known. You would think out of all the packs of these cookies that I have consumed over the years I would have noticed! Needless to say you can guess Addie's reaction to this fabulous cookie!

She LOVED them with a capitol L!

This is definitely a high chair cookie or an outside cookie! Too messy to carry around the house!

In this picture she is saying "one more"! Her new thing to say whenever you give her something is that she needs "two of em". She says this a lot...no matter what you give her....M&Ms, Band Aids, Chicken Nuggets....anything. It is really funny!

Now....it is time for Addie to make pizza for the first time!

She had so much fun. Thank goodness cooking the pizza kills germs....well most of them at least! We did wash her hands really well prior to kneading the dough! I promise!

Keep in mind that these pictures are taken PRIOR to the pizza even going in the oven!

Why cook the cheese when it is soo good cold!!

Now on to corn on the cob with a ton...literally a ton....of butter! Mmmmm! Of course Addie wanted two ears of corn, "two of em", but she did just fine with one!

"OK Mom....I'm going in for a big bite"

Look at all the butter on her chin....so funny! I would say this meal is a 100% success!
