Kelsey Adventures!

Addie was SOO excited to be the proud recipient of "Kelsey" for the weekend! I went to pick her up and she said "Mommy...we have to get Kelsey's big bag...come on....let me show you". I went into her classroom and there was Kelsey and a 3 ring binder with instructions inside!

So....here are our journal entries about Kelsey!

Addie is taking Kelsey back to school tomorrow! She is really excited to show her teacher everything she did with Kelsey. We love her new school and her teacher, Ms. Lorie! We also had our first homework assignment this week...show and tell! We have to bring something in that starts with the letter "M". That is their letter of the week. We found all sorts of things at the house...but of course Addie wanted to bring in a Monkey. I bet everyone is going to have a monkey...but oh well that is what she chose. It had to fit in a brown lunch bag and there was a specific instruction for the item not to be "perishable". I bet Ms. Lorie has had some interesting show and tells in the past before she wrote that instruction!

First day of Ballet!

Addie was SOO excited about her first ballet class. So much so that she could not sleep the night before. It was really cute. She is taking ballet and tap!

Of course I was the mom who was taking 8 thousand pictures of her child's "first class." Thank goodness she is not old enough to be embarrassed by her mother. I take so many pictures I dread the day that she says "moooom...you are embarrassing me". Hmm..what should my response be...."you'll be glad that I am taking pictures when you look back on this".

Everyone in her class is supposed to wear the same thing. Of course there is one girl who's mother didn't get the memo and instead of wearing all black with tan colored tights....she wears all pink...with pink tights! Of course she still looks adorable. Maybe her mother just wanted her child to really stand out among the other kids! Another "requirement" is that that all the children have to have their hair in a bun and out of their face. At first I was like...a bun? How in the world can I get her hair in a bun?? I struggle with a ponytail sometimes! Luckily they make this handy dandy hair accessory that makes it pretty easy!

"PliƩ"

OK...so we need some work on this one..Ha!

"Arabesque"

"Do-Si-do" ---wait a minute...that's not ballet.....

Addie's good friend, McKenzie, is taking ballet and tap with Addie! There are about 12 kids in their class. They practice ballet for the first half of class and then tap the second half. I can watch Addie during her lesson from another room on a TV. It is hilarious. Half the kids are looking the wrong way. Some kids are standing and some are sitting. One girl was doing breakdancing moves on her belly and spinning in circles (it actually looked kind of fun) while the other kids were practicing their jumps! Can't wait for the recital in May! Video camera will definitely be charged and ready to go!
