Halloween October 2011

Yes I know...Halloween is over, Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas is in two weeks and why am I just now writing about her costume?? Because I am just behind on the blogs...and always will be..sorry. You might get to read about our Christmas around Mother's day 2012...maybe...

It seems like we did a LOT of Halloween stuff this October...more so then Christmas stuff so far this December. As you can see Addie was a pirate for Halloween..her own choosing! I asked her months before Halloween what she wanted to be and she immediately knew a pirate with a patch and a parrot. Very specific requests...luckily Party City had everything in one convenient place! Even a heart shaped eye patch for a girl pirate...they have thought of everything!

Addie is saying "Argh" just like a pirate in the picture above! Ha!

Addie and I went to the downtown Halloween festival our town throws every year. The pirate on her shoulder kept falling off so we decided to have one painted on her cheek instead...MUCH easier to keep up with!

Addie is a little competitive...just like her mother. She walked past the people playing the game above and stood and watched for the longest time. She looked at me and said "I can win this....lets do it". So funny...she was on a mission to blow her balloon up the fastest....and she succeeded with a huge grin. Below Addie is claiming her prize (everybody got a prize of course)and the girl next to her is still struggling to get her balloon to pop...poor thing.

After the downtown festival I took Addie trick or treating for the first time. We have always gone to the festival before and never gone house to house. She got the hang of it VERY quickly. She would walk up to the house and they would give her a piece of candy...she would then say "Can I have a piece for my mom too?" and of course they would give her another piece. Then I would say "Aw...that was sweet..did you get a piece for me too?" and Addie would simply say "No". Smart kid.

You have to think though..trick or treating really does go against EVERYTHING we have taught our children ....don't talk to strangers...and never take candy from strangers....but it is ok this one day of the year. No wonder kids are confused....

Me, Addie, Cole and Kat Kat did our yearly trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Of course after I got home I found this really cute dress I bought for Addie last year that said "Pumpkin Patch" on it and of course it will be too small next year....I guess I should learn a lesson from that and not buy clothes a year in advance....

Face Painting is always part of the ritual!

Hard to believe that the two kids above are the same as the two kids below! The picture below was Cole's first Pumpkin Patch visit in October 2008!

Hopefully one of these days, most likely VERY far in the future, Addie and I will have our own little plot of land to roam around on....That would be nice! Addie looks right at home on this tractor with her cowgirl boots!

I don't really remember when we started it but sometime in the past we started painting our pumpkins when we got home from the patch. We knew we couldn't carve it yet because Halloween was almost three weeks away so this made it look pretty in the meantime! These are Addie's painting clothes....in other words...they are too small..her little belly kept hanging out of her shirt and when she stood up you would have thought a flood was coming.....

Addie was able to wear her favorite costume a couple times this Halloween ...Super Girl (although she wears it all year long anyway)

A Halloween Party at Cole's House!

I had to put my nephew Jackson in Addie's old Dumbo costume...As you can see he LOVED it!

Addie got to wear her Super Girl costume one more time to school for their Halloween Party, or "Fall Festival" they call it to be PC. She is pretending to fly in the picture above!

Well..October was wonderful. Now I need to Blog about our Disney trip! Hopefully I'll get that done sooner rather than later!
